They're sometimes red and inflamed, or there's brownish discolouration (hyperpigmentation).

The edges of the patch may be smooth or irregular. If there are blood vessels under the skin, the patch may be slightly pink, rather than white. The centre of a patch may be white, with paler skin around it. Vitiligo often starts as a pale patch of skin that gradually turns completely white. The lack of melanin in your skin can turn the hair in the affected area white or grey. It can also sometimes develop where there are hair roots, such as on your scalp. The areas of skin most commonly affected by vitiligo include: The pale areas of skin are more vulnerable to sunburn, so it's important to take extra care when in the sun and use a sunscreen with a high sun protection factor (SPF). Vitiligo can affect any area of skin, but it commonly happens on the face, neck and hands, and in skin creases. It's caused by the lack of melanin, which is the pigment in skin. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.Vitiligo is a long-term condition where pale white patches develop on the skin. I am at a loss at the moment on how to rid myself of this. If anyone has a similar rash it would great if they could share any way of curing or even identifying what is causing it. The rash appears as small red spots and also in red rings mainly on the arms. I had a biopsy taken of this inflammation which returned negative. If I apply sunscreen this inflammation becomes more noticeable. Where my arms and the top of my hands are exposed to the sun I have red inflamed lines which appear after hot days. If the temperature outside increases the itchiness starts up and overnight it dissipates, but in the morning as the sun comes up and the temperature starts to rise slightly, even if I am inside, I start to get itchy. The skin rash gets worse whether I am outdoors or not. I continued using the Diprisone but it was not effective anymore. This medication worked at first but the rash returned a week and a half later. I work outdoors and she suggested it was sun related and prescribed Diprosone. The dermatologist had never seen a rash like mine before. Biopsies and blood tests were done and all tests came back negative for allergies.

I have been to doctors and dermatologists. I have been suffering with this type of skin rash problem for five months. If the weather cools, the rash will go away but when the temperature raises the rash starts again. The rash I am experiencing comes and goes with changes in temperature.
